Smoked Vazhakkai skewers/Smoked Raw Banana skewers/Smoked kaccha kela skewers

Smoked Raw Banana skewers is a starter.It is made from raw banana and potato with spices which is sticked or inserted to the skewers and then roasted on a grill pan or Dosa pan.Lastly the smoke of charcoal is fumed into this dish and gives a  taste like a pomegranate.This is a trending dish from a cookery show. So I too planned for doing this.Very tasty to eat this smoked skewers.Definitely once everyone should try this.Here is the recipe of smoked Raw Banana skewers.

Ingredients :
Raw Banana-2
Potato- 2-3 no
Onion-1/2 cup 
Coriander leaves(chopped)-1 tsp 
Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
Chilli powder-1 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder-1 tsp
Garam masala-1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds powder-1/2 tsp
Asafoetida-a pinch
Lemon juice-1 tsp
Skewers

Mint Curd chutney-
Coriander leaves-Handfull
Mint leaves-little lesser than Handfull
Ginger-1 inch
Garlic-2 cloves
Cumin seeds-1/2 tsp
Curd-2 spoons
Salt-1 to taste

Instructions:
1.Take 2 Raw Banana and 2-3 medium size potatoes.Rinse with water and cut them into half.For Raw Banana cut the side part first.No need to peel the skin of raw Banana.Add them in cooker with sufficient amount of water till the veggies gets immersed in water and 1/2-1 tsp of salt.Close the lid and cook for 3 whistles,then switch off the flame.Let it rest for sometime.
2.Once the pressure of the cooker is released.Drain the veggies over colander.Run cold water and peel the skin of Raw Banana and potato.Add them to a mixing bowl.Take a Masher and mash it nicely.Add 1/2 cup chopped onion, 1 tsp chopped coriander leaves,1/2 tsp Turmeric powder,11/2 tsp chilli powder,1 tsp coriander powder,1/2 tsp cumin seeds powder,1/2 tsp garam masala,pinch of asafoetida,1 tsp lemon juice and 1/2 tsp salt as we already added little salt while pressure cooking it.

3.Mix altogether.This should be thick enough to stick the skewers.If not then you can add 1-2 tsp of rice flour.

4.Keep the skewers ready.Take a big ball kind of from the dough and stick to the skewers or you can insert into the skewers.Do not start from the beginning of the skewer.Leave 2-3 cm space from beginning of the stick and after that stick the dough to the stick.Press gently with your four fingers to adjust the thickness of Raw Banana skewers.Give a shape of cylindrical like other kababs.
5.Repeat the above step and fill the other skewers.

6.Take a Dosa Tawa or grill pan.Turn on the flame to medium-low.Add oil and add the skewers to the pan.Roast it from all the sides.once one side gets roasted flip it to other side.Flip the sides till all the sides of skewers gets roasted.Spray oil in between else it will stick to the pan.(Add more oil to this)

8.For Mint Curd Chutney-
Take a Mixie jar,Add handfull of coriander leaves,mint leaves,1 inch ginger,2 garlic cloves,2 green chillies,1/2 tsp jeera,2 spoons of curd,1/2 tsp salt.Blend it.The chutney is ready.
9.For smoke of Charcoal,take a charcoal and light it.Here I have coil stove top, so on low flame I lit  only 1 charcoal.Once the charcoal is lit,put the charcoal in a bowl,Put 1 tsp ghee for more smoke and keep beside the skewers.Cover it with a lid so the smoke doesn't comes out.Cover it for 5 minutes not more than that.

10.Once you open it,enjoy the smoked Raw Banana with Mint curd chutney.
