Tired of making Thoor dal or Moong dal sambar here is one healthy and tasty roasted gram sambar.Roasted gram are rich in iron.It can resolve stomach upsets also lowers cholesterol.It helps in maintaining healthy bones.We can prepare this easily with home ingredients which goes well with Paniyaram,Dosa,Idli.

Ingredients :
Roasted gram/ Pottukadalai-1/2 cup
Red Chillies-4
Whole Pepper corns/Miri-1 tsp or 9 nos
Jeera-1 tsp
Onion-1 medium size
Tomato-2 medium size
Green chilli-2 small size
Turmeric powder-1 tsp
Chilli powder-1 tsp
Sambar powder-1 tsp
Curry leaves- Handfull leaves
Corainder leaves-1/4th cup
Procedure :
1.First grind the powder required for sambhar.In mixie jar take 1/2 cup roasted gram,4 red chillies,1 tsp jeera,1 tsp whole pepper corns or 9 nos,1 tsp salt,1 pinch of asafoetida.Grind it finely.If you don't find pepper or jeera u can skip it and add 1 more chilli for more spiceness.
2.Take a Kadai.Heat it with 3 spoons of oil.Add 1 tsp mustard seeds,when it starts splitter then add 1 tsp whole urad dal,fry it till it turns light reddish in colour,2 green chillies or red chillies,1 medium size chopped onion and few curry leaves.Keep on frying on medium flame.
3.Once the onion starts turning light reddish in colour add 2 medium size tomatoes.cook it till it becomes soft.Then add 1/2 to 1 tsp of turmeric powder,1 tsp sambar powder and little chilli powder(optional) to it.
5.Now Cook it for 7-10 mins by closing it with lid.Lastly garnish with corainder leaves and serve hot with Paniyaram ,Dosa.
